The print records the contribution made by pilots flying on reconaissance missions deep into enemy territory to provide the photographic information so vitally needed.  They relied on speed rather than firepower but some aircraft were armed and this depicts a dogfight over Eisenach on March 24th 1945. when Clyde East in his P51 Mustang, ‘Lil Margaret, returning from a photo recce over Schweinfurt, takes on 6 Me109s and manages to shoot down two of them.
